How to make extra money in the year 2020
The year 2020 is well and truly upon us, yet some things do not seem to have changed. People around the globe are still looking for that extra something to enable them to better live their lives in comfort. I have already mentioned that I make my own living over the internet. Now, I am going to use my own experiences to show you how you can make extra income. It doesn’t have to be just on the internet, however, and the list that’s given below is not exhaustive. The following are some of the extra sources of income that you can use to generate extra money;
1. Blogging
As far as I am concerned, making extra cash starts with having a blog. A blog is a place where you can really talk to your target audience. Contrary to what many may think, the conversation is not actually one sided. Truth is, people talk to you first using search engines, and you find out what they are saying through keyword research. You then write your articles, in which you answer their questions. If you do things right, you will be able to build your audience over time. Having as many people as is possible read your web pages should be the ultimate goal. It’s what allows you to turn your creation into a cash cow at the end of the day. This is done through some of the methods that are mentioned below.
2. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is another way through which people can make extra income online in today’s world. In fact, affiliate marketing continues to grow in leaps and bounds with each succeeding day. To illustrate the point, let me use myself as an example. Affiliate marketing is how I make a large chunk of the income that I generate via my website, Planet Marketing. But what is affiliate marketing and how does it work?

Affiliate marketing is a system that is used by businesses to reach out to new customers using affiliates; individuals and companies who are paid when the desired goal is reached. The goal could be to sell a product or service, or to have people sign up.

Needless to say here that affiliate marketing has two perspectives; that of the affiliate and that of the vendor. The vendor or merchant benefits by having a troop of affiliates do marketing on his or her behalf, while only paying when a sale is made. The affiliate, on the other hand, gets extra income by making sales.
Planet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing
You will be interested to know that I am both an affiliate and a vendor. I use my website, planetmarketing.com to market goods and services for various businesses. These include web hosting companies, rank checking companies and many more. I generate substantial amounts of money from the sales that I make. Some of these sales are recurring, meaning I will continue to be paid an agreed to percentage for as long as a person I referred to a company continues to subscribe.

3. Display Advertising
If you have a blog or a website, then you can monetize it using display advertising. There are various offerings out there that you can use to do so, including Google Ads. Now, the thing, however, is that you are not going to get much out of Google Ads if you do not have huge volumes of traffic to your site on a daily basis. I am not talking here about having a hundred visitors. I am talking about having tens of thousands of visitors to your website DAILY! Google Ads will pay you either when people click on ads or when the ads that are displayed on your site gets impressions. So you need visitors to generate meaningful extra revenue.
4. Sell unwanted goods
Most of us hold on to things that we no longer really need out of sentimental attachment. You can make extra cash by disposing of such things. Let’s assume, as an example, that you have an old Kindle e-book reader and have recently purchased the latest version of the Paperwhite. Selling the gadget that you no longer use is a good way of freeing up space and generating extra cash.
5. YouTube Videos
Here is something that you may not be aware, a lot of people actually make a living via YouTube videos. That’s hardly surprising, considering YouTube’s popularity. The platform is the second biggest Search Engine after Google and the good news is that whatever the genre that you into, you are likely to find your niche there. Once you have reached the required subscriber threshold, you can monetize your YouTube channel using Google AdSense.
Nobody is going to want to see your videos, however, unless they are really compelling. One thing to remember is that most people go to YouTube either to find information or to find humor. These therefore are some of the areas that you can focus on. An example would be if you create videos on how to service your own car. 6. Photography
Go anywhere today, and chances are high that you will meet people taking photographs, either using their phones of using professional cameras. Now, the practice can be annoying, but we all do it. You probably already have thousands of photos on your computer from those last few holidays that you spend at some enchanting resort.
What most people do not realize is that it’s quite possible to make extra income by selling these photographs. There are many websites out there where you can sell your photos. Perhaps the best known of these are iStockphoto and Shutterstock. The good thing, if you are really good, is that your photos can easily become a passive source of income!
7. Sell courses on your site
Most beginners make the mistake of believing they are going to generate loads of income through blogging alone. You have, perhaps, put up Google AdSense on your site. Is that enough to give you extra income? Clearly, it is not! I have already mentioned that you need to generate loads of traffic to make meaningful revenue from display advertising. If, as an example, you get $1000 visitors to your site every day, that translates to a figure that’s probably less than $5 per day! So you need traffic. But you can leverage the little traffic that you are getting now to sell courses to your visitors. 8. Write a book
This is another good way through which you can generate extra income during the course of the current year. The good news is that writing a book has never been this easy. What you only need is a little perseverance and you should be good to go. Your book could be about anything; from your pet poodle to the weeds that trouble you in your own garden. Once it is written, you can sell it on Amazon or on your own website.
9. Set up an eCommerce site
You can also make extra income by setting up your own eCommerce website. There is no end to the things that you can sell on such a site. And you don’t actually need a lot of cash to setup and run an eCommerce site. I have previously talked about dropshipping and how people can use it to start selling even without an inventory of their own. Should you decide to go down this route, the only money that you are going to need is that of setting up your eCommerce site.
