Yotpo vs TrustPilot – Pricing + 2 Alternatives

Yotpo vs TrustPilot

The importance of using Star Ratings to help grow your business can never be overemphasized. Online marketing and selling is all about creating a positive vibe, and nothing draws people better than the knowledge that their peers have already tried out a particularly product or service, and have found it to be desirable. Star Ratings are particularly useful when it comes to Google AdWords Ads and Google Shopping. Those stars that you see online are a measure of the trust that people place in a particular product or service.

How do you get Product and Seller Ratings?

We are not going to dwell much on how you can get star ratings in your Google AdWords Ads, in Google Shopping and in organic search in this article. This is something that we have already dwelt on extensively in this article.

Needless to say here that, in summary, you get star ratings; those stars that appear in front of your AdWords Ads, in Google Shopping and in organic traffic through the services of companies such as Yotpo, TrustPilot and a few others.

Not all Product Review Companies are created the same

These companies have been licensed by Google to aggregate and push product and seller reviews. The thing to note, however, is that not all review companies are created equal. As of the time of writing this article, Google had licensed 32 companies to syndicate seller reviews, and 23 companies for the Product Reviews.

What this means is that not all of the Review companies that are out there will be able to cover both product and seller ratings. This is something that you should be aware of before choosing the company that you wish to work with.

If you are interested in getting seller ratings; then you should check out this Google list of the review companies that have been licensed to cover Seller Reviews.

Companies offering Product Reviews

If, on the other hand, you are only interested in product reviews, then feel free to check out this list of Google licensed product review syndication companies.

Yotpo vs Trustpilot

So, now that we have gotten that out of the way, it’s time for us to talk about Yotpo and TrustPilot and how the two stake up against one another. The fact that you are reading this article probably means that you have been having some doubts about which, between the two companies, is the one that you should go for.

Having extensively used both companies’ services, we feel that we are well positioned to outline the similarities and difference between the two companies, and to recommend the best to our readers. So, where shall we begin?

Yotpo vs Trustpilot: Pricing

Pricing, it has to be said, is what it usually boils down to when it comes to choosing a product or service in this day and age. We are all on a budget, right? (Well, if you are not, good for you!) Ask most people out there, and they will tell you that price is the thing that they consider the most when choosing product or service.

Which, between Yotpo and Trustpilot has the best price?

You will notice that this comparison is most based on price. So, which of these two companies is best priced?

  1. Yotpo does not display a price for any of its plans

This is the thing that you will notice first should you visit the Yotpo website. The company does not have a price table on its plans! This, in our view, borders on being a mercenary. What this probably means is that what you will end up being charged largely depends on who you are and how much you are willing and able to haggle.

One actually wonders why the guys at Yotpo even bothered having a “Plans” page in the first place! As you can see by following this link, there is a free plan, and a Premium plan. The premium plan is the one that we are talking about here. You have to actually click on the “Request a Demo,” button, and then schedule a call with Yotpo to get an idea of what you are going to pay!

What you will need to note, in any case, is that Yotpo’s pricing is based on your products, traffic volume and domains, which makes it variable on a month to month basis! However, our readers tell us that, on average, Yotpo’s products begin at about $400 per month.

  1. Trustpilot is the best because it has a standard pricing model

The thing that we like the most about Trustpilot, when it comes to the issue of price, is that, unlike Yotpo, it actually has a standard pricing model. You can see that in the screenshot below. The great thing about this is that there are likely to be no huge surprises waiting for you at the end of the scheduled call. Even for the unpriced “Enterprise,” package, you are going in with some knowledge of what the other plans costs, which means you will have a pretty good idea what you are going to be negotiating for.

Trustpilot’s plans

So, how much will it cost you to do business with Trustpilot?

  1. Both Trust Pilot and Yotpo offer a free plan

Here is one thing on which Trustpilot and Yotpo are similar; they both offer a free plan. Obviously, both companies wish to get as many people as possible to sign up before making their pitch. So, you can check out both companies before choosing the one that best suits your needs.

  1. Trustpilot and Yotpo offer both Seller and Product reviews

This is another area on which the two companies are similar. If you have already clicked on the links that we gave above, you will have noticed that both Yotpo and Trustpilot have been licensed by Google to offer product and seller reviews, which is great, if you are looking to have everything under one roof.

Getting Star Ratings: Two alternatives

So, which two companies are alternatives to Yotpo and Trustpilot in terms of pricing for product and seller review syndication? Well, in our view, the first and best of these is Shopper Approved. If you are looking for a Yotpo alternative, then Shopper approved is the answer. Shopper approved is also great if you are looking for a Trustpilot alternative. So, how much does Shopper Approved charge for its services?

  1. Shopper Approved

Shopper Approved is one of the most affordable when it comes online reviews, but you can get a HUGE discount by using our affiliate link to sign up. You also get 30 days free by signing up for Shopper Approved using our link. This is great and allows you to try out this company’s services without having to pay a dime.

  1. Verified Reviews

Verified Reviews is another great company, as far as gathering online reviews is concerned. You will notice that verified reviews also offers both product and seller reviews. The great thing about this company is that its pricing starts at $99 per month. We have to say, on our list, they are only beaten by Shopper Approved in terms of pricing.
