Success with Facebook Ads
Success with Facebook Ads Marketing for Vacation Planning Companies begins with answering a number of questions;
Answering the above and other pertinent questions should service as foundation for the Ads that you wish to creation on Facebook for your Vacation Planning Company. Creating the Facebook Ads themselves is a simple matter of taking the following steps;
Have a Facebook Page for your Vacation Planning Business
The importance of having Facebook Pages for companies in today’s business environment can never be overstated. Social Media is the place where a large majority of the globe’s population is now spending a significant portion of its time.
A Page is, as such, an important tool that represents your brand to the multitudes of Facebook users. So how do you create a Facebook Page for your business?
We have previously written an article in which we out the steps that you need to take in order to create a Facebook Page for your business. Follow the step by step instructions that are outlined in that article and you should be good to go;
To begin the process of marketing your vacation planning company on Facebook, the first thing that you need to do is head over to the Facebook Business page. You then need to click on the “Create Advert,” to log into the Facebook Ads Manager interface. It’s worth pointing out here that Facebook used to have two ways through which people could create Ads; “Ads Manager,” and “Power Editor.” However, the two have since been merged with the result that creating your Ads using one is pretty much the same as doing so in the other.
As you can see in the above screenshot, creating a Facebook Ad for your Vacation Planning Company in Ads Manager is a four step process, involving the following;
The Campaign is your first port of call as far as creating Facebook Ads is concerned. Creating a Facebook Ad campaign is composed of the following steps;
Every Facebook Ad, in essence, needs to be informed by a clearly defined set of objectives. The question that you ask yourself here is; “What is it that I wish to achieve with my ads?” For this example, we want people who view the Ad that we are going to create for our Vacation Planning Company to click on the Ad and be directed to our website. We are, therefore, going to choose “Traffic,” as our main objective. Other Objectives include;
After choosing your campaign objective, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and type in an appropriate name for your campaign. We are going to call ours; “Facebook Ads Marketing for Vacation Planning Companies.” Click on the “Continue” button when done to move to the next section.
In order to have your Facebook Ads run on Facebook, you first need to have an Ad Account. This steps should, however, not take more than a minute. Fill in the required details and, when done, click on the “Continue” button to move to the next step.
This is the next step on your path towards the creation of an Ad on Facebook for your Vacation Planning Company. Ad Sets allow you to group ads that have a shared budget, bid type, targeting data and bid info.
Ad Set Name
The first thing that you need to do in this section is give your Ad Set a name. We are going to call ours; “Vacation Planning Company Ads.”
Next, you need to determine the destination for the traffic that will come from your Ads. This can either be a Website, an App or Messenger. Directing traffic to Messenger would be great if you wish to immediately chat with potential customers.
This section is one of the most important, inasmuch as it allows you to narrow down on the people who you wish to reach with Facebook Ads for your Vacation Planning Company.
The Locations section gives you the ability to define the country, or city that you wish to target with your Ads. For this article, we are going to use the state of California as an example. The one thing that you need to remember is that Vacation Planning companies actually have the advantage of being able to cover a broader area with their operations.
In fact, a vacation planning company could conceivably have customers across the United States and even in other countries. Other businesses, such as restaurants, can only draw customers from within a given amount of miles around them. You can also exclude any part of the country that you do not wish to target with your ads.
Age, Gender, and Language
These sections allow you to define the Ages, Gender and language of the people that you are targeting with your Facebook Ads. One of the major challenges, when it comes to Vacation Planning Companies, is that it is a bit difficult to narrow down on a particular group.
Although this comes with a number of advantages; including the fact that everyone over 18 is a potential customer; this tends to make it difficult to significantly refine the target group.
The Detailed Targeting section gives you the ability to further narrow down on your target audience. It there are certain demographics and interest groups that you would like to either include or exclude in your campaign, you can do so using this section.
As you can see in the above screenshot, we have, for our example, included frequent travelers, people who are interested in Vegas Vacations, and others whose hobbies are Adventure travel, in our target group. When done choosing your target audience, you can save the audience for use in other ads.
One of the great things about creating Facebook Ads for your Vacation Planning Company is that the ads that you create are not restricted to Facebook. In fact, they are also shown across the company’s networks, including on Instagram. If this is what you hope to have happen, then you should leave Placements on the automatic setting. However, should you wish to have your Ads shown only on Facebook, you can do so by editing Placements.
Budget and Schedule
Although it can be difficult at first to determine the amount that you should spend on Facebook Ads for your Vacation Planning Company, the good thing is that you can always begin small and boost your budget as you go forward. You can also set the schedule for the running of your Ads. When done setting the budget for your Ads, click on the “Continue,” button to begin working on the Ad itself.
This Section is where you begin working on the Ad that people will actually see in their Facebook news feeds.
Give your Ad a Name
First, you need to give your Ad a name. For this example, we are going to call our Ad, “California’s Best Vacation Planners.”
We have already given you, at the top, a link to a post in which we give you step by step instructions on creating a Facebook Business Page. The identity section allows you to use your business page to represent your business in Ads.
Format for your Facebook Ads
The above screenshot shows the formats that can be used when creating Facebook Ads. Determining the best format for your line of business may require a lot of split testing. For this example, we are going to create a Facebook ad in the form of a slideshow.
Creating a Slideshow
To create a Slideshow, you first need to select the appropriate section, and then click on the “Create Slideshow” button. In the next section, click on the “Add Photos” button. We are going to use stock photos from Shutterstock in our slide show.
You can, if you wish, upload images and videos for use in your Ads. Click on the “Confirm,” button when done choosing your images. In the next Window, choose the duration for your slides and then click on the “Create Slideshow” button.
This section is where you choose the images, video, text and links that will appear in your Facebook Ad.
The text subsection allows you to come up with a piece of text that clearly tells your target audience what it is that you are offering. You need to spend some time working on your text, since it appears at the top of your Ad.
Your headline should be attention grabbing and informative. Social Media is not the place for long narratives and your headline should have no more than 40 words.
The description is where you can give people additional information, such as pricing or any promotions that you may be running.
The Destination URL allows you to add the web page to which you wish to have people who click on your Facebook Ads directed.
The preview for your Ad appears in a pane to the right of your screen. This makes it easier for you to make changes that will make your Ad the best that it can be.
The Call to Action
You can use any of the following Calls to action in your Facebook Ads;
Confirm and Launch your Ad
When satisfied with your creation, the only thing that’s left to do is for you to confirm and launch it. This can, however, only happen if you have added a payment method to your Google Account. If you have already done so, your ad should now begin being delivered to your target audience.
